Mission 50- Visit the Knysna Heads and Stay at Oyster Creek Lodge

"Just 64km from George is a coastal paradise along the Garden Route that has been named one of the Top 100 destinations in the World."

Situated in my kitchen is a designated sugar hideout where treasured midnight snacks await to be consumed. Slabs of chocolate, marshmallows, cupcakes, lamingtons, chips and popcorn all form part of this sweet cabinet wonderland.

Do you feel guilty after realising your lap is enclosed by various empty snack packages that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere and all you can feel is the sensation of the chocolates sinking down into your tummy? Does your secret night time stash seem to disappear as if an invisible ‘Cookie Monster’ sneakily helped himself to your cherished mountain of yumminess?

I think there just might be an undercover sweet conspiracy happening here... baam baam baam!

Sweet packages are too big and the contents are too little!

Don’t you think snacks seemed to be packaged in larger bags and boxes than what is necessary? No wonder why we think we may have consumed too much snacks in a short space of minutes and seconds. I finish an entire large bag of crisps making me feel like a walking, talking vacuum cleaner! I think snack companies could save so much money by ‘normalising’ their packaging and it would save me and the rest of the female population loads of guilt feelings.

This brings me to my next mission...

Although I’ve been touring allot of South Africa, there has always been a jewel destination that I’ve never experienced and has been sitting in my water tower list of ‘must see’ places!

Mission 50- Visit the Knysna Heads and Stay at Oyster Creek Lodge

Just 64km from George is a coastal paradise along the Garden Route that has been named one of the Top 100 destinations in the World. Knysna is a picturesque town with the surrounding Outeniqua Mountains, indigenous rain forests, rivers, lakes, breathtaking coastlines and the home to spectacular wildlife including elephants. Located on the banks of a ‘Featherbed’ estuary, Knysna is an ecological delight for any holidaymaker or traveller.

The Knysna Heads is a spectacular feature welcoming boats into the lagoon (estuary) where two points perhaps once joined. Situated on the Eastern Head, Coney Glen Viewpoint is a must see in Knysna.

Oyster Creek Lodge is situated on the shores of the Knysna lagoon and offers a relaxing atmosphere that resembles and encompasses the ambience of the nearby Knysna forest. This accommodation is any traveller’s home away from home and with a view of the Knysna Heads, every sunrise and sunset will be absorbed with a glass of champagne.

I Little Miss Mission Impossible is going to fly to George and explore this breathtaking location. I shall blend in with the oysters and perhaps even learn how to eat an oyster! I will become Little Miss Mission Impossible a.k.a. Oyster Slugger Backer!
