Mission 42- Visit Cape Town’s Paternoster and Explore the Western Cape

"Being one of the oldest towns on the Western Cape this village is famed for its crayfish and long white beaches, a piece of earth untouched by modern society and its conveniences."

I’ve noticed a new ‘trend’ on the roads in Johannesburg and I call it, “Don’t go to the mall... drive and let the mall come to you!” Lately the tarred surfaces are roaming with ‘On The Go Retailers’ or otherwise known as the OTGP who depending on the weather, always have something suitable to offer in the comfort of your own vehicle. Their skills are remarkable... hanging loads of products on their clothes and arms and still being able to walk and sell at the same time! Coat hangers, passport holders, umbrellas, dustbin bags and even Mommy’s koeksisters... why wouldn’t you want to shop at your local street corner? I’m in awe of this road side selling phenomenon!

Now there are many who have what I would call a vehicle interpersonal space boundary wall. These OTGP personal cannot tell from a car that wants to be approached and a car that has an invisible line that surrounds the metal carriage. As far as these individuals are concerned... an open window is an invitation... an opportunity and eye contact is an RSVP for the sales conversation! So unless you invest in an aircon you may always be a selling target. If you are one of these individuals of the world wide road then I have a solution for you!

“Do you feel like you’re missing the fresh traffic air whilst hiding behind a frame of glass too scared in being approached by an individual trying to make you feel guilty into buying something frivolous? Do you want some peace and quiet whilst enjoying the sounds of the rolling tyres and traffic mayhem but instead you’re listening to how you should purchase a set of plastic coat hangers? Well I have the solution for you! You need a ‘Win-No’ to stick on your window for people who don’t know when you mean no’! That’s right folks... the Win-No is ground breaking technology utilizing only the very best sticker material ensuring your traffic memories are all good ones. Just stick on a ‘Win’ if you want to be approached by street sellers or a ‘No’ if you want road space!” Genius I know... I amaze myself sometimes. Hehe

It’s time for another mission and this one will be taking me to the land of Table Mountain and penguins...

Mission 42- Visit Cape Town’s Paternoster and Explore the Western Cape

Cape Town is the pinnacle of beauty! The food, people, culture and surroundings make this an incredible tourist destination in South Africa. You are set in a world where beach meets mountain and you can enjoy a glass of wine whilst taking it all in.

A popular area to explore is the Western Cape... there are so many beautiful little towns and villages to see and each little place offers a unique experience. One place that I’ve wanted to see is a traditional fishing village called Paternoster. It’s situated about 1 ½ hours from Cape Town and it’s known to be a mini replica of Greece with its white washed and blue shuttered houses. Being one of the oldest towns on the Western Cape this village is famed for its crayfish and long white beaches, a piece of earth untouched by modern society and its conveniences.

I Little Miss Mission Impossible is going to get on a plane and make my way down to this fishing village and perhaps I’ll spot a whale in the midst of the ocean.
